Not just heart shaped

A strawberry is actually good for your heart, and packed with vitamins, fiber, and particularly high levels of antioxidants known as polyphenols. Strawberries are a sodium-free, fat-free, cholesterol-free, low-calorie food. and Yummy too - take that wheatgrass smoothies!

Got Vitamins?

They are among the top 20 fruits in antioxidant capacity and are a good source of manganese and potassium. Just one serving -- about eight strawberries -- provides more vitamin C than an orange.

A Rose by any other name...

A strawberry is not technically a fruit, or even a berry, but is actually described by the boffins as an "enlarged receptacle of the flower". However you class them, everybody classes them as totally delicious!

A Loving Fruit

Strawberries have always been linked with romance, but did you know that in olden times it has been alleged that newly weds were entitled to strawberries with soured cream as a wedding breakfast, believing them to be an aphrodisiac.
